Passion. Such a powerful yet delicate word. We all spend our lives searching for it, and some are actually lucky enough to find it. For me, my aunt Karen taught me everything there is to know about being passionate. She taught me how to support others, and never stop fighting for those small subtle things that make you happy. She also taught me that if you invest your whole heart into something, your hopes and goals could turn into something much bigger than what they were set out to be. For me, this is creating a family through my songs, and growing together through that. This is why I try to invest in every single person who believes in my music. Now, that word invest. I can’t help but hate using it when it comes to describe my relationship with those who support me. I think it’s because it has such a business tense to it. Music is not a business, it is a feeling. A feeling of purpose and connection that we can all share. I guess for now we will use the word invest, until I can come up with something more accurate. Point is, I’ve always believed that if you are truly passionate about your work, treat those who believe in it with the same sense of passion, good things will happen. I believe in this the same way I believe my aunt Karen has been there with me for every step of my musical career. My next step is to board a red eye flight tonight and be a part of my first tour ever. I’m so anxious and ready it almost can turn into stress. Instead, I will take this next step with a full heart full of passion, because that is what I was shown to do. That is what we are meant to do.
